The Montessori Education system is based upon the theories and work of an Italian physician named Maria Montessori (1870-1952). Maria Montessori believed in the ‘full development’ of the child; by nurturing his or her physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs, and that the teacher could release all the latent human potentialities in the child.

In December 2021, we opened Blue Heron Montessori Nestlings, an Infant/Toddler Montessori centre located by beautiful Saxe Point park, at 1234 Juno St.

Blue Heron Montessori is a progressive Montessori early learning setting for children ages 2.5-5 years old in Victoria, BC. Our program is created to truly follow the child, incorporating current research and standards for Early Childhood Education. We do this by blending play-based learning and Montessori materials and philosophies. We are passionate about providing the highest quality of care for young children.
