Hope Valley Childcare Centre

Hope Valley Childcare Centre in Surrey began with a mom – one who was like many of the parents who send their children to us for daycare. She wanted her timid toddler to build self-confidence around other children, and to develop social skills. When she went looking for a daycare, she found that small centers didn?t always have the extra staff on-hand to support group child care, in case one early childhood educator needed to step away, or for an emergency. Other centers didn?t have bright, open and creative spaces for children. It was also very hard to find child care at all. These options felt limiting, in that children either couldn?t get adequate attention, or wouldn?t get enough sun-exposure, let alone comfortable rooms to play in. The good news is that our founder?s child did get to go to daycare after all. As a result, there was a big change in her social development. Instead of remaining shy and clingy, she overcame her stranger anxiety. She started to love playing with other children. Her mood changed too; she was much happier than before. This experience inspired the launch of Starts Children?s Centre in Richmond, our first location, in 2015. And now, we?ve opened Hope Valley daycare in Surrey. Our founder saw, first-hand, what a difference peer-to-peer play could do for a little one?s personality and self-esteem. She went on to obtain her Early Childhood Educator and Infant and Toddler Educator Certificates. Today, she hires other daycare professionals who love children. Together, they aspire to make enjoyable spaces for children to feel at home, when they?re away from home.
